Paul Wasicka Wins NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship
March 06, 2007 - Deanna Goodson
Paul Wasicka finished second at the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, earning over $6 million. Since then, he’s made a final table at the 2007 L.A. Poker Classic and finished twelfth at the Aussie Millions Main Event. Obviously, the unmarried Colorado native, who currently makes his home in Las Vegas, has chosen the proper career path.
This past weekend, Wasicka reigned supreme at the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. The 26 year old was in the spades bracket and faced Eli Elezra, Joe Hachem, last year’s champ, Ted Forrest, Nam Le, Shannon Elizabeth and Chad Brown en route to the win and the $500,000 first place prize.
Other entrants in the event included Isabelle Mercier, Annie Duke, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Tilly, Phil Gordon and John Juanda.
NBC begins airing coverage of the 2007 National Heads-Up Championships on Sunday, April 8th. Get the full schedule at http://www.nbcheadsup.com/headsup.html
