A new movie called "Deal", Burt Reynolds plays an ex-gambler and card dealer who comes up against a young gun and internet poker whiz, played by Bret Harrison (Fox's sitcom "The Loop") and starts to tutor the lad to the big enchilada, the World Poker Tour championship. The film features the WPT's own Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten who provide commentary for the final table which features pros such as Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari. The film started shooting in early April and has recently gone into post-production.
Jennifer Tilly (Liar Liar, Bride of Chucky), Charles Durning (Tootsie, Dick Tracy, Evening Shade, etc.), and Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie) also star in this film. "Deal" is the first film to be shot in post-Katrina New Orleans and is just one of a slew of new poker films gearing up to hit the big screen in the next year or so. "Lucky You" and "Freeze Out" are among the titles you could see coming to a theater near you soon!
