The Monte Casino Resort in Johannesburg, South Africa, was home to the nation’s first ever poker tournament last week. Pros Kenna James and Robert Williamson III hosted the event. A total of 105 pros, locals and internet qualifiers played in the televised tourney.
American Jaime Vilela, who cashed in February’s All-African Poker Tournament, was the last man standing. He earned Rands 2 Million, or USD $280,607.47 at the end of an arduous, eight-hour heads-up battle with Danny K. On the final hand, Vilela made quads.
How cool is that?
