The card game variety at Poker Stars is quite good, with both Hi-Lo versions in Omaha and 7-card stud. Of course, they have Texas Hold 'Em in both limit and no-limit varieties! Poker Stars offers an impressive array of tables stakes. Pokerstars is the micro-limit place to be - their games start as low as $0.01$0.02. Of course, you highrollers can find some action too. The games at Poker Star go on up to $100/$200. Some say that pokerstars started the micro-limit table trend. That's an innovation I can live with! Pokerstars' software is incredible and enables very fast and easy play with some great functions thrown in such as note-taking and so forth that ensure a pleasurable time can be had by all.

Soft Competition
Poker Stars does not have a lot of newbies running around their ring games. The site is really geared towards intermediate and advanced - even pro level - players! On a given day, you could be throwing down the gauntlet with one of the last 3 WSOP champs! They all play at pokerstars. The view flop percentages at Pokerstars.com are definitely lower than the average. They're around the mid-20's and low 30's. That's some tight play, y'all! You can find some wild and loose games in the Omaha arena where the view flops percentages get up into the 40's and 50's. Overall, you are dealing with a savvy poker playing bunch at pokerstars. Ironically, tournaments offer the most varying level of players since Poker Stars attracts so many of them and you'll find they run the gamut of expertise. Tournaments are your best bet for the softer side of competition at pokerstars.

Incentives
One area that Poker Stars could beef up is in the promotions. They don't have a sign-on bonus. However, I must say that Pokerstars.com does have an outstanding frequent player reward scheme (called FPP) where you earn points for every raked game played (including tourneys!). You save up points to use as either cash to play, tournament entries or prizes. It's a great loyalty program that can earn you lots of excellent swag. Poker Stars also offers deposit bonuses proving that perhaps you don't need a lot of glitz and glamour to get - and keep - players!

Tournaments
Tournaments are where the heavy action is at Poker Stars. The top numbers for tournaments reach as high as 20,000-23,000 players during peak hours! Obviously Pokerstars.com has some considerable traffic. What makes this number even more significant is that pokerstars has a boat-load of action coming in from Europe. Pokerstars hosts all the majors, including WPT satellite events, and provides some very interesting games. I feel that Pokerstars excels in the tournament arena because its software seems to be especially built for tourneys that are fair, fast and very fun!

Poker Stars may not have telephone or chat support; but, they do answer their emails promplty. You can expect to have your most burning questions answered within an hour. That's good news - and above standard response times in the industry.
