Poker Returns to Mohegan Sun
November 26, 2006

In 2003, Mohegan Sun, a casino located in Uncasville, Connecticut - not too far from Foxwoods - closed its poker room. Casino officials put in more slot machines. Recently, the 10 year old casino and resort has decided to give itself a makeover. "Project Horizon", which is what they're calling the $740 million expansion effort, will target a younger and hipper demographic.
Poker will be coming back to Mohegan Sun. As part of "Project Horizon", they'll be putting in a 45 table poker room. Sweet!
The casino/resort will also add a new House of Blues music hall and a hotel. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, which is also in the process of expanding, are the gaming capitals of New England. The new poker room will be part of the "Casino of the Wind" which is expected to open in the Spring of 2008.
