Peter Gould Beats Son at NPL UK Open
August 24, 2007 - Jon Watson
The National Poker League UK Open Main Event has it’s victor, and his name is Peter Gould. The British poker pro put up his £2,500 to play, soundly defeated all comers, and claimed his £32,500 prize. Oh, and he got to show his son who was boss.
Josh Gould was in the event with his father and got all his chips in the pot with the old man, hoping his Ace Six would win out versus his pop’s wired Nines. They didn’t.
The heads up match was Gould and Patrik Selin in heads up battle that lasted only six hands. In the end it was Selin all in with a weak hand and Gould claiming the victory with Ace high.
Here is the final table report:
1. Peter Gould - £32,500
2. Patrik Selin - £20,250
3. Jeff Buffenbarger - £12,750
4. Josh Gould - £8,500
5. Jason Ho - £5,100
6. Dieter Dijkstra - £3,400
7. Lee Watts - £1,500
8. Darren Woods - £1,000
We dedicate this song to Josh and Peter Gould:
