Player Profile - Lee Watkinson

February 12, 2007 - Jon Watson

The fact that Lee Watkinson likes surfing and wrestling isn’t a surprise to anyone who knows that he hails from Washington State. While those might not be the top two outdoor and sport related activities among WA residents, the North West of the US is certainly known for producing people who love the outdoors, sports and adventure in general. And, now, for producing at least one killer poker player.

Lee plays things fairly close to the vest, in interviews as well as in poker; unlike many Up And Comings (or even many Already Theres) there isn’t much out there about Lee beyond his interest in Surfing, Wrestling, that he’s from Washington, and his Poker Record.

Fortunately for Lee, and his bank account, his Poker Record does all the speaking for him. In 2004 he was virtually on fire, burning up the poker tournament circuit with as many as six final table finishes, raking in the prize money.  If Lee finished thinking about what he does for a living and made the obvious decision, it is likely the poker world will get a chance to learn a lot more about him, as he swings by a few more final tables and picks up his chips.

Some of Lee Watkinson’s fantastic record is listed below:

  • 2004 The Five Diamond World Poker Classic II
    Pot-Limit Hold´em 3rd $40,740
  • 2004 Legends of Poker
    No-Limit Hold´em Championship 2nd $578,375
  • 2004 Mirage Poker Showdown
    No-Limit Hold´em 2nd $513,038
  • 2004 35th Annual World Series of Poker
    No-Limit Hold´em World Championship 113th $15,000
  • 2004 35th Annual World Series of Poker
    Pot-Limit Omaha 2nd $270,000
