Lady Legends on the WPT

Dan Harrington may have won the World Poker Tour’s Legends of Poker Tournament (and we congratulate him for the effort. We love Action Dan, the 1995 WSOP Main Event champ), but we’re here to focus on the ladies. We’ve got to give much love to Anna Wroblewski. The diminutive diva seems to have shot onto the circuit within the past six months or so – and she’s done it with style, panache and some killer moves.

The pretty brunette cashed in 42nd place in the WPT Main Event, earning over $16,005. Since April, Anna, who was born in Vietnam and adopted at an early age, has earned over $730,000, including a fourth-place finish in Event #47 at the WSOP, which was good for almost $200,000. She was the top lady finisher at the LOP Main.

Of course, Anna isn’t the only lady who made good at the World Poker Tour festival. In Event #1, a $300 NLHE tourney, Danita Espirito and Julie Thule placed fourteenth and fifteenth, each earning over $2600.

Carol Fuchs finished eighteenth in the third event at the Legends of Poker, just a few spots behind Mimi Tran. She earned $3,260 there. Carol also did well in the Ladies Poker Party NLHE event. Her second place finish netted over $17,000.

Diana Korkis, of course, took the top spot in the LIPS Tour event, which was ladies-only. Alice Talbot, who cashed in that event, made the final table in Event #7, adding over $8,500 to her winnings. Annabelle Najera, another strong finisher in the LIPS event, and Svetlana Gromenkova finished in the top two spots in the Limit Hold’em $500 buy-in tournament. Combined, they earned about $60,000 in the event.

Shirley Rosario, the Poker-Babe herself, made bank at the Bike in Event #15 with her fifteenth-place finish.

Let us not forget, Pamela Brunson, Texas Dolly’s darling daughter. She took the top spot at the Ladies Poker Party, winning her way to the Main Event and a seat the WPT’s Ladies Night V, which was won this past weekend by none other than Kristy “Mixed Games” Gazes.
