Soraya Homam Finishes Third at Party Poker’s German Poker Open II
December 23, 2007 - Domenica DiPiero
At the beginning of December, Marco Joos took down the Party Poker’s German Poker Open II and €50,000. Organized by Matchroom Sport, the event was held in London and had a €2,500 buy-in.
Soraya Homam, a fixture on the professional circuit in Germany, made quite a splash in the event. The lady pummeled the competition in her first heat, taking the top spot and moving onto the grand final. The final six included German pro Benjamin Kang and Swiss player Rino Mathis.
Homam outlasted both of those players, going out in third place after factory worker Marco Joos turned up his trips against her pocket fives. Homam, who ranks 64th on the German all-time money list and earned nearly $100,000 in tournaments to date, added €20,000 to her take.
Glückwünsche!
