HHPT Brings Sole to Ladies Poker in the Northeast
January 08, 2008 - Deanna Goodson
The High Heels Poker Tour, founded by Lauren Failla, who became enamored of the game while in college, seeks to “give women of all ages the opportunity to expand their skills at the poker table and provide a venue for nurturing the next top female poker player.” The HHPT, as it is commonly known, is all about creating opportunities for women and giving them the recognition they deserve.
Membership is $30, which gives ladies noticed on upcoming events, hotel discounts, event giveaways, free seat drawings, specials and other HHPT perks. Recently, Paula Ettine won her way into the WSOP Ladies Academy Camp with Annie Duke that takes place at Caesar’s in Las Vegas on January 25 & 26th. They’re also heading to the World Series of Poker Circuit Event in Tunica.
In February, the HHPT will take part in another circuit event, this time at the Harrah’s Horseshoe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Most importantly, Lauren and her crew are working on ways to get more ladies to the WSOP in 2008. Currently, several casinos including the Seminole Hollywood (Florida) are hosting pre-qualifiers to a special main event occurring on March 1st. The $450 buy-in event, also taking place at the Seminole, Hollywood, is giving away a $15,000 prize package which includes a seat at the 2008 WSOP Main Event, spending money, hotel and airfare.
Pre-registration for that event is going on now at HighHeelsPokerTour.com.
