Poker-Inspired Halloween Costumes
October 30, 2007 - Deanna Goodson
Halloween has become a night of fun and frivolity. Folks all over the world get together for mayhem and moving all-in. Poker and Halloween are a fantastic mix. You can play the game at your parties. We’ve held an annual event for several years now using cookies or candy as chips. Everyone leaves with goodies and … hopefully, a glass of milk.
We started wondering about poker-inspired Halloween costumes. What we’ve uncovered in our memory vaults are some seriously silly ideas, based on some of the biggest stars (and concepts) in the game today.
This is our top five:
5) Bride of Tilly. Not only is Jennifer Tilly a poker champ – remember she won the 2005 WSOP Ladies Main Event – but she’s also a scream queen. The Academy Award nominated actress co-starred in the 1998 flick, Bride of Chucky. Ladies, wear some torn garments and show lots of cleavage. Every man in the room will feel mighty lucky as he peers into your…soul!
4) Magical Antonio. Antonio Esfandiari is known as “The Magician.” Why not camp it up in honor of the holiday? Get a black (or red) cloak. Bring a deck of cards and your mustache. Wow everyone with your chip tricks and watch their money disappear into your coffers. Bwahahahaha!
3) Texas Dilly. Git yerself a ten gallon hat. Paste a red ten and a black deuce from your card deck on your camel-colored blazer. Put on a black vest and mosey on over to any card table of your choice. Yer guaranteed to scare the bejesus out of yer opponents as Doyle Brunson.
2) Jaws. Freak everyone out with your iPod turned up high. Obviously, you must be playing the Jaws theme music. Place a shark fin on your head and rise up from the table periodically just to watch folks jump. Remind them you’re a shark every other day of the year with your solid and aggressive game play. Show no fear!
1) Queen of Hearts. Dazzle ‘em with a sexy red or black dress that shows off your assets to perfection. Apply the four queens around your chest area for added effect, or stick ‘em in your vamp-iest, camp-iest wig. Put some stilettos on your feet and you’ll be the hottest thing near or “on” the felt…depending upon your preference.
Happy Halloween!
