Jennifer Golin Wins Big on High Heels Poker Tour
January 12, 2008 - Deanna Goodson
On January 6, 2008 the High Heels Poker Tour pulled into the Grand Casino Resort in Tunica, Mississippi. The Ladies-Only event, which featured a highly affordable $230 buy-in, was part of the World Series of Poker Circuit Event.
According to the HHPT’s founder, Lauren Failla, it was quite an experience. The tour received a “warm welcome” and some “additional support.” The two-day event had 287 entrants. 3 HHPT members made their first WSOP cashes in the event. Congrats go out to Ellen Van Buren (8th), Patty Clifton (10th) and Stacy Kagawa (26th).
Jennifer Golin, however, was queen of the Mississippi this time. She won the event (and $17,291) after literally coming back from a chip and a chair at the end of Day 1. Jennifer, a resident of Nashville, TN, emerged victorious after a great heads-up battle with Sheila Crowie of Alabama. For two days, Sheila “played consistently good poker making calculated moves.”
Congrats to all the ladies for their efforts! The HHPT hits the WSOPC again on February 24, 2008 at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, IA.
