EPT London - Coren Out on Day 1
September 26, 2007 - Deanna Goodson
Last year, Victoria Coren, a poker columnist and TV presenter, won the EPT London event. She beat Australian player Emad Tahtou heads-up by making a "lucky" straight on the final hand.
After becoming the first woman to win an EPT event ever, Vicky, the daughter of humorist Alan Coren, quipped that her plans were now "To go and play in other events and probably never achieve such an impressive result again, like Joseph Heller after he wrote Catch-22."
Well, it seems that things are going exactly according to plan. Queen "Vic" was knocked out on the first day of action at the EPT London event this year. Her Ace-Jack proved no match for Danish player Dennis Plejdrup's Big Slick.
Team PokerStars pro, Katja Thater, was also on hand for Day 1a action yesterday. Unfortunately, the lovely "Lady Horror" was eliminated before the end of the action. Today, Liz Lieu, aka the Poker Diva, will sit down to play. Hopefully, the stylish Liz, who recently moved to London from Los Angeles, will bring it on home for the ladies.
