Calvin Ayre's Got Something Extra Special
September 14, 2007 - Deanna Goodson
Calvin Ayre is a businessman, billionaire, benefactor and...a bachelor. The 46 year old Canadian who's built Bodog into a mega media conglomeration with its hands in music, publishing, mixed martial arts, tv and, of course, poker, was on the cover of Forbes magazines "Billionaires" issue in '06. That year he was also named on of People mag's "Hottest Bachelors."
Now, the hunky entrepreneur, with palatial digs in both Vancouver and Costa Rica, is on Extra TV's list of most eligible bachelors. The self-professed "risk-junkie" isn't exactly looking to get hitched, however. He loves the single life and says that it's best to have "one girl in each town, bare minimum."
Calvin does have a type. The ladies he prefers should "be reliable and compassionate and live by his motto: Work hard, play hard." A date with Mr. Ayre, who launched the Calvin Ayre Foundation to help thoe in need just a few years ago - They've already built a school in Antigua, supported a children's charity in Saigon and helped save an Iranian woman from the death penalty - sure sounds fun. As he says, "I'll get my team to organize something; could be a helicopter trip to the beach for the day. A nice dinner at a good restaurant at some exotic location somewhere in the world. I mean to me, that's as good as it gets.”
Sounds pretty good to us! To learn more about Calvin, check him out at http://www.newcalvinayre.com.
