The Asia Pacific Poker Tour Seoul event was held late last week. 186 people paid to play in the PokerStars-sponsored tournament in the South Korean capital including Vanessa Rousso, Isabelle Mercier and Joe Hachem.
Hachem and Rousso, a former law student, didn't make it past Day One. Both were eliminated by the same blok, Jack Zaicik. Zaicik survived despite being crippled late on Day One. He doubled-up but it wasn't enough to propel him to the final table. He was one of the first folks out on Day Two.
Only 16 place paid. Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier, the last lady standing, was the first to collect a payday. She went all-in with her pocket eights and was up against James Honeybone's pocket rockets. The lovely Montreal native added $4,371 to her lifetime earnings.
Honeybone made it to the final table, but didn't win. That distinction belongs to a young Israeli by the name of Ziv Bachar. The soft-spoken 25 year old won $139,872 for his first-place finish.
